They help everyone that asks - from finding a book to finding housing to finding legal papers to everything in between. Going with the biggest increase (for a $100,000 house), $106, that works out to be $8.83 per month (in a 30 day month it is 29 cents a day). You can’t buy a book or DVD for that. Support your library! I pay for street lights on my property taxes. If I can pay that (for safety purposes), I can afford a few dollars to support my library on my school taxes. Volunteer at a local library sometime - you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how much the employees know about & do for their patrons. I had the privilege once of assisting a patron on books on grief - specifically losing a child. Where was that sweet Mama going to turn if there was no library? Libraries don’t just offer books, but if they did - that alone is enough to have them opened. Knowledge is power and our family has signed out hundreds & hundreds saving us so much money. Not everyone has internet access to apply for jobs. The local libraries provide computers & internet. Not everyone has copiers or printers. You can use both for a small fee at the library. I guess I’ll never understand why some are against funding. Go in sometime during a children’s story hour. Do you want that or bored kids out on the street maybe getting into trouble?
